At Last, a Holiday

After all the work on the cottage and landscaping, we were overdue for some RnR. A resort holiday in Fiji was called for. It's probably not particularly PC these days and we were astonished at the amount of ink on display around the pool at the Outrigger, but for almost the first time ever we decided we wanted to be able to do virtually nothing while on holiday. indeed, apart from Flick bussing half way round the island to see a friend at another resort, we only left the grounds of ours for about 10 minutes, which is about the same amount of time we spent connected to the Internet.

Unfortunately the boys were quite enjoying the novelty of having both their parents around all day (and not too stressed) and as a result were somewhat reluctant to attend the kids' club. In the end we managed to bribe them for one two hour session per day, which was just enough time to fit in some snorkelling and a spa session.

However, the boys did have a wonderful time in the pool, mostly jumping off the artificial rocks into our waiting arms. Luckily a very nice Australian boy of about 11 named Lincoln befriended them and seemed not to mind taking our place for reasonable spells.

They also loved the opportunity to get dressed up and participate in the ancient Fijian resort custom of lighting the citronella torches.

Oh and don't buy the inflatable dolphins at the resort store - lousy stability and more trouble than they're worth.

Bula!
